BUPA London 10k – May 2009

As a competitor (ha!) at this year’s BUPA London 10k, where we basically ended up swimming for 10k it was raining so much, I got an email offering early entry into next years.
So, sign up straight away I did, even though it costs a whopping bloody £25!! (My boss, a seasoned runner, almost fell off his chair when I mentioned this). It’s all a good cause, and it’s a great race, so I don’t mind too much.
My plan for this one is to do it in under an hour, which gives me almost 8 months to shave 20 minutes off my time.
I should also be not such a big runner by then, if weight loss goes according to plan :)
Good luck. I haven’t managed at sub-60 10k yet. And yes, £25 is far too much for a 10k, plenty of cheaper ones in London.
Hi, which other 10k are there in London that are cheaper than the BUPA? Please tell!
Hey Mark,
How are you?
I am forty this year, set myself target of a marathon 18 months ago…got to complete a marathon before I am Forty!
I am 5′10 and 15 stone, did 2x half M’s last year around 2:08 each and I am currently doing 3 runs a week 13m on a sunday.
The thing that gets on my nerves is I just dont seem to be loosing weight, the wife says I look fitter but the scales just wont budge……my time is crap to….ok I can run for miles, i put this to just being strong but I would so much love to be faster!
