No need to apologise mate -- great comment! Thanks :) I think once I'm up to 5k non-stop I'll begin signing up for a bunch of runs, but also do the free parkrun runs every few weeks.

I have about 4st to lose, so hopefully it'll drop easily once my running improves.

I'm not sure really! I was mainly concentrating on being able to run as long as possible without stopping or walking and I've achieved that quite well I think.

I didn't follow any training plan when I started but I did do the who walk/run thing but just kept pushing how long I ran for and it just kept increasing.

It's weird now because I run 10k most mornings and it is easy to just plod along at a slow steady pace and I sometimes think back to when I first started which wasn't that long ago.

As I'm planning on doing a full marathon for the first time ever next April I'm actually going to make an effort to lose weight whilst training. I figure the increased mileage and reduction in calorie intake will definitely be a winner!

Whatever you do make sure you set goals. I constantly look forward for future events and book way in advance so I've paid and I have something to look forward to. Also, if I've paid I'm more likely to attend!

Sorry for the rambling! lol

Hello Mark,

I have your blog in my Reader and was wondering why you hadn't posted in a while. It is good to know you're back at the running and you've got a half-decent training plan going on.

I was over 18 stone when I started all this running stuff and I've hit a plateau at around 16 stone, but I love the running!

You keep it up! Run, run, run...
